2nd announcement - 1st African Symposium on Mycotoxicology

The 1st African Symposium on Mycotoxicology (ASM) will be held from 26th – 28th May 2015 in Livingstone, Zambia, at the Zambezi Sun Hotel under the auspices of the International Society on Mycotoxicology (ISM).

The Conference aims to create awareness on the importance of mycotoxins in food and feed safety, human and animal health and the economic impact of mycotoxins on the African continent and  will address the following themes:
  • The impact of mycotoxins: An African perspective
  • Health and economic impacts of mycotoxins in Africa
  • Detection and identification of mycotoxigenic fungi and their mycotoxins
  • Pre- and post-harvest management of mycotoxins
  • Mycotoxins in food and feed value chains in Africa
  • Technology uptake in Africa
  • Future challenges to ensure food safety and security inAfrica
The symposium will provide an ideal platform for information exchange amongst African and international participants and create an environment for role-players to meet and interact in the hope of forming successful partnerships and collaborations.

25 January 2015
Early bird registration: 25 January 2015
Late registration: 01 April 2015

Large participation will enrich the meeting and advance the collective aim of furthering research and developing strategies to manage mycotoxins in Africa.
