DTU Danmarks Tekniske Universitet

dkThe Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is the largest technical university in Denmark and is conducting a large part of the public technical research in Denmark.  Recently the public research organizations working with technology as well as food research was merged with DTU. DTU has 6500 students, 800 PhD students and 4000 employees.

Center for Microbial Biotechnology (CMB) is a part of Department of Systems Biology working on microbial biotechnology and biodiversity. CMB has 80 employees and about 20 are working on biodiversity and chemical diversity of micro-fungi.  The primary aim of CMB is the development of fungal cell factories, and at the same time secure that these fungi are safe, with a special focus on mycotoxins. CMB has worked on chemotaxonomy, microbial chemical profiling and mycotoxin production potential. We are focusing on the genera  Aspergillus, Paecilomyces, Penicillium, Fusarium, Trichoderma and Alternaria.
