INBI A.N. Bakh Institute of Biochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences

ruThe Institute of Biochemistry the first biochemical institute of the Russian Academy of Science, was founded in 1935. Activities of the Institute combine studies of molecular processes in living organisms and practical applications of fundamental biochemical concepts. Priority lines of INBI research include ecologically safe biotechnologies, enzymology of biotransformation, structure and action of novel practically important enzymes, mechanisms of adaptation to stress and factors of environmental risks, molecular regulation of plant growth, analytical techniques for agricultural, industrial and medical practice. The Institute comprises 23 laboratories and research groups. 250 employees in total, 180 people are engaged in R&D, among them 110 PhDs. Five specialized educational and research centers have been launched in cooperation with the universities and colleges.
INBI has a big experience in the development and implementation to practice of novel diagnostic tools for analysis of toxic and pathogenic compounds for environmental monitoring, food/feed quality control and medical applications.
